Our biggest need is prayer. This is a work of God, not us, and without Him we are sure to fail. We need prayer for provisions, blessings, and protection from the spiritual forces that will seek to get in the way and destroy what is happening.
- Spread the word. Whether it is social networking, word of mouth, or helping us do mailings. We have brochures and business cards that help accomplish this task. Talk to your churches and youth group leaders. I am available to talk to groups about teen pregnancy and Bun in the Oven Bakery, but people need to know we are out there.
- I like to hear stories, both good and bad, relating to teen pregnancy, especially if it is personal experience. If you have a story to share, and don't mind me using it here or elsewhere, send it to me.
- We need a board of trustees. This can't be anyone, but we are looking for people who are knowledgeable in non-profits, food service, teen ministry, pregnancy ministry, financial aspects of a ministry like this, and anything else that relates to what we are doing. If you are interested, let me know.
- We will be needing household items donated or purchased at low cost for the hope chests. We need these items to be new or like new. If you can donate these items or can get them donated, this would greatly help.
- I have already mentioned the financial donations that are necessary. Probably the easiest way to do that is to go to the Donations page for Kingdom Star Ministries and follow the link there to our PayPal page. If this doesn't work for you, checks can be made out to either Bun in the Oven Bakery or Kingdom Star Ministries. Since KSM is a church, the donations are tax deductible though we are not officially a 501(c)3 organization.
- OK, here is our biggest need at this point, in more ways than one. We have 5 kids, all home-schooled, so we need a new home from which we can conduct the ministry as well as live as a family. Though we were interested in an almost perfect home in Deer Park, unfortunately it sold before funding came in to purchase it. We see nothing out there at this point that is even close to what we need. To build is around a million dollars, to end up with what we need. We are still drawn to the Deer Park area, but not sure what is going to open up. This is kind of a great unknown that we are trusting in God to work out for us, but the larger part of the vision cannot happen without it.
